adrian_turtleIt wasn't *exactly* in the first place I looked. After searching all day, I went back to the piece of furniture where it would have been if I had put it away properly. It had come out of the drawer and gotten stuck behind it. It made for a nerve-wracking day.
In the course of searching, I did find any number of other things. Most of them had not been put away properly, because I hadn't put them away at all. Some of them might be interesting. The main thing I noticed (which is not the same as finding) is that I did a really appalling job of life maintenance during my last job. And I haven't done much to get it back in order in the last 3 weeks. It feels like way too much of the life maintenance has been wobbly for more than a year, and I didn't have the perspective to recognize it.
